SEO Linking Strategy: 3 Specific Steps for you to Accomplish One and What it will Do for You!

Do you have an SEO linking strategy?  You should!

If you want to do any kind of online marketing, then you have to have an ongoing SEO (search engine optimization) linking strategy as an indispensable part of your campaign. It really is the only way to get to the top in the search engine listings for your website and stay there. Otherwise, no one online will ever see your tantalizing deals for your products and services or be exposed to your brand. The secret to success in search engine optimization is in the links. But, it is not enough to have a million of them. You need the right kinds too. Read on to discover how to set up an effective SEO linking strategy.

One factor that search engines use to rate links is what they call “recency.” How old are the links? If there are a lot of links, what is the average age of them? The older links get, the less valuable they’re going to be to the search engines, and your site will start sinking in the search results. There are three ways to combat this, in specific steps.

First, set up a suite of social media accounts specifically for your website so that you can create your own links every time you update your content. Second, actually provide your websites with constant fresh content that others can share and mention with their own links. Third, create a network of smaller sites that have auto-posted content that provides a steady stream of backlinks propping up your authority site. Make sure the content from those sites it quality content!  Otherwise, the search engines might recognize it as spam.

SEO linking strategyRelevance is another term used in modern search engine optimization. When a search engine looks at a link, it considers whether or not it’s just a random link, or if the sending and receiving pages match in terms of keywords and content. The strongest links that will do you the most good are the ones with the highest relevance, because  when another page like yours is linked to you, the search engines assume this means your page represents an authority in your niche.

Link placement within a webpage is actually taken into account by search engines. They may not have human eyes, but they do know whether or not a link is in a highly visible spot amidst the text and content, or if it is just thrown down in the footer or lower left of a website.

Search engines know to check for links between websites, but they also look at how many links there are between two websites. If you exchange a lot of links with another site, or even between two of your own, then again, they might assume you are trying to game the system. Do not risk this!  This can lead to deindexing, meaning that anyone searching on that search engine will never locate your page through them.

Your online marketing efforts can really go into overdrive when you exercise search engine optimization, especially when you have a good SEO linking strategy. By applying these principles, you can get your website up to the top, in front of the crowd and more easily seen by those who are surfing for the keywords you use.

This is good SEO and the best kind of organic, targeted marketing you can do.

Stick to it!  Again, one of the most important things the search engines look for is freshness. This applies to content but it also applies very strongly to linking.  Your SEO linking strategy must include an ongoing plan for forging new links with other relevant websites.

This means you must have a plan that includes visiting other sites and looking for ways to get good quality links from high quality sites.  This plan must be scheduled for regular implementation.  Set aside time every week, at the very least.

One of the best ways to get good links to your site is to link to the site you want linking back in a relevant and positive way.  You can easily do this in a blog post.

You can also visit blogs in your niche and comment on an article of interest on their site.  It is usually okay to leave a link in a very short signature file (name, URL).  Many sites now ask for your name and URL in order to be able to post a comment, so it’s pretty simple.

Again, be persistent.  Don’t wait for months, then try to cram in a bunch of work all at once to revive your SEO linking strategy.  Instead, put a regular slot into your weekly schedule and stick to it.

Search engine optimization takes a lot of work, but it works!
