Real hits that make real money for you are more important than massive amounts of hits that do nothing more than suck bandwidth.  Hits, by themselves, are as worthless as tracks in the sand.  They’re not satisfying at all, and they taste like dirt.

Real hits are visits from real people who are interested in what you offer on your site. It may not be the products or services you’re selling they are coming for, but if you’re doing things correctly, some of them will be buying things from you!

Here are 5 steps you can take to get real hits to your website.  These are real hits that will start making real money for you if you work consistently and persistently.

1. Purchase a domain name that reflects the market you want to target.  For example, if you’re selling camping gear, you could buy a domain name like “www.besthikingtrailsinmyarea.com,” if you happen to live in a popular area for outdoor activity.
2. Choose a good web host like the one we use to host your new website with the domain name you just chose.  You don’t need to pay a lot to host your site, but you do need a reliable host.
3. Set up your new website.  I recommend using WordPress, as it is so user friendly, but there are many others you can choose, if you desire.  Wordpress gives you some easy options and a lot of beautiful templates.  You can set it up strictly as a blog, or you can have a website with a blog included.  It all depends on your taste and how you want to be set up for the long term.
4. Start writing blog posts about the things that interest you.  For example, if you’re blog is about hiking in your area, write about the places you can hike, and about your own experiences.  Include photos in every post!  People will love to visit your site.
5. Add your first source of steady income for your blog in the form of a couple of monetizing plugins that will bring a steady stream of targeted traffic to your site, while also earning income every day without you having to do anything but keep posting fresh content, which is what a blog is all about.

These are five simple steps that will bring real hits to your site.  These will be real human eyes on your content, people with the same interests as you who will quickly realize you create great content they want to see more of.

There are many other ways to easily monetize your blog without worrying about how to add links, etc.  Just be careful not to overdo it, or your blog will start to look cluttered.
